The Board of Education on Monday
approved the budget development
calendar for the 2008-09 school
year.
The calendar is as follows:
Jan.14 - Budget Advisory
Committee conducts first
meeting, Jan. 14, 7p.m. at
the District Office.
Jan. 28 - Budget Advisory
Committee meet with
non-instructional department
heads.
Jan. 31 - Preliminary
non-instructional budget
requests to be submitted to
the Business Office.
Feb. 25 - First draft of
preliminary budget presented
to Board of Education.
Feb. 25 – March 31 - Board
of Education conducts series
of budget workshops with
Superintendent Vicki Wright
and the Board of Education.
March 3 – March 31 –
Superintendent Wright and
the district administration
complete revenue estimates
including proposed state
aid, federal aid, and real
property assessed value,
etc.
March 31 – Board of
Education presented with
complete preliminary draft
of proposed 2008-09 school
year budget.
April 7 – Final proposed
budget presented to board.
April 21 – Board of
Education approves budget.
May 5 – Board of Education
meeting conducted in which
board candidates are
introduced.
