Three from RCS get break with wind ensemble

Three RCS students have been chosen to perform with the elite Capital Region Wind Ensemble.

The students will rehearse through January and early February for a Feb. 10 performance at the Schenectady County Community College Auditorium. The concert will begin at 3 p.m.

Selected through an application process and director recommendations were:

• Junior Brittany Palmer, oboe player
• Senior Anna Downey, French horn
• Sophomore Graham Bastian, tuba

The students will perform Francis MacBeth’s Of Sailors and Whales, and John Philip Sousa’s Library of Congress March side by side with the members of the Capital Region Wind Ensemble, said RCS Band Director Scott Andrews.
