RCS calendar is considered
tops in the state,
district Chalkboard
also honored
The RCS School District’s
2006-07 school year calendar has won an Award of
Excellence from the New York State School Public
Relations Association (NYSPRA), Superintendent Vicki
Wright announced this week.
The award is the highest
handed out by the association.
The district’s newsletter,
The Chalkboard,
has won an Honor Award from the association.
NYSPRA will bestow the
awards during the annual New York State School Boards
Association Convention in New York City on Oct. 26.
“Being recognized for
excellence by communications professionals from across
the country is real honor for RCS. These awards affirm
the efforts the district has undertaken to provide
valuable, up-to-date information to the public,” said
Superintendent Vicki Wright.
The New York School Public
Relations Association is the state-wide professional
organization of school communications practitioners,
administrators and chief school officers who are
responsible for the public information program of their
school district.
Earlier this summer, the
calendar was awarded a National Award of Excellence, as
was the district newsletter, by the National School
Public Relations Association.
It’s also the second
consecutive year RCS’ communications efforts have won
accolades from the state association. Last fall, RCS
received an Award of Excellence for the newsletter and an
Honor Award for the 2005-06 calendar.
