Scholars in
the woods
Students in
the Young Scholars Program at A.W. Becker and Pieter B. Coeymans
Elementary school toured the Five Rivers Environmental
Educational Center in Delmar recently where they learned about
nature and the environment. The students were led through the
400-acre preserve by Five River’s volunteer Marilyn Fancher.
Dedicated in
1972, Five Rivers Environmental Education Center (Five Rivers
EEC) comprises over 400 acres of broad fields, towering forests
and tranquil wetlands.
The RCS

in grades 4 and 5 who have shown high ability in English
Language Arts that is at least four grades levels above their
