RCS High School
Interim Grades
9/10 Principal
Dr. Frank Barone
told the Board
of Education
Monday that the
number of
student
misconduct cases
is down slightly
from last year
and considerably
from years past.
"What is
different is
that while the
number of
reported acts of
misconduct is
slightly lower
this year in
most categories
compared to last
year, it has
increased this
year over last
year in the
category of
cutting
detention,"
Barone said.
As a result, the
administration
is looking into
strategies to
correct this
problem
proactively,
perhaps through
gathering
students
assigned to late
detention at the
end of ninth
period before
they leave to
get on their
buses.
Barone said he
along with
Grades 10/11
Principal Hakim
Jones and school
deans have made
a concerted
effort to have
an increased
presence in the
hallways this
year and he has
noticed that "for
the most part,
the school is
quiet and
orderly."
