RCS
website set news record
More and more district residents
are turning to the RCS website
for the latest news and
information on the school
district.
October saw 6,463 unique
visitors turn to the website,
nearly 200 more than the
previous record set in March of
this year.
The website’s stats were
released Wednesday by Capital
Region BOCES, which hosts the
website.
Unique Visitors - Individuals
who visited your site during the
report period (If someone visits
more than once, they are counted
only the first time they visit)
– is typically considered the
most appropriate way to gauge
website traffic.
“This underscores the spirit of
openness and transparency we
strive for at RCS,” said
Superintendent Vicki Wright.
“From work or home, our parents
and residents are turning to the
website and find out everything
they need to know about our
schools.”
The website is home to news,
schedules and other information
on the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk
Central School District.
RCS Today
– the district’s weekly email
newsletter - continues to be a
top draw to the site, with
recipients “clicking” through to
stories after reading the e-mail
news.
The district website routinely
draws more than 5,000 unique
visitors a month, which is a
marked increase from just three
years ago when 1,500 unique
visitors was considered a busy
month, said Communications
Coordinator Mike McCagg.
