Volunteers sought to advise on school budget

The Board of Education and administration is in the process of forming a budget advisory panel to make recommendations on a 2008-09 school year budget as budget preparations begin.

The panel will serve in an advisory role to the Board of Education and RCS Administration. Panel members will review budget documents and request and provide recommendations to the administration and Board of Education on how to proceed. The administration and Board of Education will retain the final decision-making authority on what the proposed 2008-09 school year budget proposal will look like.

Last year’s budget advisory panel made recommendations that were substantially implemented by the Board of Education before the budget went to voters.
