schools about the
river, its
significance to the
region and the
environment during a
series of lessons
that
The lessons started
Jan. 28 at A.W.
Becker and Jan. 29
at P.B.C. and will
continue on March
17-18 and May 12-13.
The Jan. 28 and 29
lessons focused on an
“introduction to the
river” and the
students have
prepared by reading
From Mountains to
the Sea.

Students will read
Adapting to
Estuaries and
The Eels Incredible
Journey before
the March visit,
during which they
will learn about the
animals that live in
and along the
waterway. Finally,
during the May
visit, students will
learn about the
exploration and
settlement of the
Hudson River Valley.
The presentations
begin at 10 a.m.
each day and
continue until 2
p.m. with an hour
break that starts at
11 a.m.
