Two from RCS advance
to Capital District Spelling Bee
Two RCS Middle
School students will compete next month in
the Capital District Regional Spelling Bee
after besting schoolmates during a
competition on Wednesday.
Seventh grade
students Michael Persico and Austin Snyder
out-spelled other semi-finalists in
Wednesday's competition at the middle
school.
RCS is a sponsor
for the Scripps National Spelling Bee in
Washington D.C. and all RCS students in
grades 6-8 had the opportunity to prepare
for the grade level spelling rounds held at
the end of January, advisor Bethany Losito
said.
The regional
event will be held March 10, 5 p.m. at
Proctor’s Theater in Schenectady.
