Students spread goodwill throughout community in “pass it on” program

Students at Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School celebrated National Random Acts of Kindness Week by distributing goodwill throughout the community on Friday.

The students delivered home-made treats to businesses, the police station, the community library and other venues with a simple message “pass it on.”

Guidance Counselor Laurie Abelson said that attached to the cellophane-wrapped and bow adorned platters was the message: “You are the recipient of a Random Acts of Kindness. Now it’s your turn. Go and do something nice for someone else and pass on this card to them.”

 “We wanted to bring our celebration to the community,” Abelson said.
