REMINDER: Board petitions available

District residents are reminded that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education are available in the district's Business Office.

The petitions must be filed with the District Clerk no later then April 14 at 5 p.m.

The following vacancies are to be filled on the Board of Education:

    TERM and  NAME OF LAST INCUMBENT

• 3 year term - John Bonafide

• 3 year term - Scott Hughes

• 3 year term - Mike Varney

• 1 year term - Rosemary Puckett

The candidates receiving the three highest number of votes are elected to the Board of Education for the 3 year terms.  The candidate with the next highest number of votes will fill the 1 year term.   

Each petition must be directed to the Clerk of the District, must be signed by forty-five (45) qualified voters of the District, shall state the residence of each signer, and shall state the name and residence of the candidates.

Petitions will be available at the Board of Education office, 26 Thatcher Street, Selkirk, N.Y.,  beginning February 7, 2008.
