A lesson
blowing in the wind for RCS
High School students are finding their latest lesson is
blowing in the wind.
In a new lesson on alternative energy sources, students in
Mike Fisher’s technology class spent a month designing and
constructing vehicles powered by wind.
Today and tomorrow those students will present their designs
to fellow students with a thesis and argument on why their
design will work best.
On Thursday and Friday, the students will test their
wind-powered boats in a man-made pond in the classroom.
Fisher said the students’ projects will be graded based on
performance, design and aesthetics.
The students recently created solar cells as another
alternative fuel source.
