Quazimodo
The
bells
will be
ringing
on the
stage of
RCS High
School
February
8-10 as
the
school's
Drama
Club
stages
Quazimodo.
The show
by
David
Koren
is a
modern
take on
the
famed
tale of
the
Hunchback
of
Notredame
.
Quazimodo,
the
deformed
bell-ringer
of Notre
Dame, is
in love
with
Esmeralda,
a gypsy
dancer
who does
not know
he
exists.
Esmeralda
is
framed
for the
murder
of her
lover,
Phoebus,
and
Quazimodo
saves
her from
execution,
bringing
her to
the
sanctuary
of the
South
Tower of
Notre
Dame
where he
lives
with his
two
gargoyles,
the
romantic
Paquette
and the
cynical
Gudule.
Approximately
40
students
- guided
by
Mark
Patterson,
Georgi
Callaghan
and Tina
Grant -
are
taking
part in
the
show.
Parents
are also
volunteering
in the
creating
of the
set and
the
production.
Shows
will be
staged
Feb. 8
and 9 at
7:30
p.m.
Sunday,
Feb. 10
at 2
p.m. is
the snow
date.
