Board of Education members said they want to craft a policy that would allow for an immediate response - when appropriate - to public comments during the hearings and petitions portion of board meetings.

Board President Mike Varney said last week that the board would begin crafting the policy in the wake of a discussion among board members. Superintendent Vicki Wright triggered the discussion, saying there had been indications from board members they were not pleased with the current procedure in which comments were responded to in writing following the meeting.
