Blood drive a draining experience
RCS students, faculty and staff
turned out in force for Thursday's Red Cross Blood Drive,
helping the Student Government Organization surpass its goal of
95 units of blood collected.
The six-hour blood drive
resulted in 102 productive units of blood donated, SGO
Advisor Binnie Chriss said.
The drive also saw 29
first-time donors roll up their sleeves and - because blood
donations can be divided into red blood cells, plasma, etc. -
could result in as many as 248 lives saved, a Red Cross
representative said.
The SGO hosts two
blood drives each year – one in the fall and the other in the
winter or spring. |
