Student musicians toot their horns, celebrate Music In
Our Schools Month
RCS students are
celebrating Music In Our Schools Month this month.
The month of March is
recognized nationally as Music In Our Schools Month and
RCS students are tooting their own horns about the power
and importance of music education in grades K-12.
The RCS Middle School
Music Department presented two concerts last week and
the performances continued this week with High School
musicians performing on Thursday.
The elementary schools
join the celebration the last week of the month with the
Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School Grade 5 Band and
Chorus concert taking place on March 25th, starting at 7
p.m. at the P.B.C. Elementary School. The A.W. Becker
Elementary School Grade 5 Band and Chorus concert is
scheduled for March 26th, 7 p.m. at the elementary
school.
Additionally, RCS music
students from the middle school and high school will
also be well represented at the Greene County Music
Educators Association Spring All-County Festival at the
end of the month. The All-County concert will be held
at Catskill High School on Friday, March 28th at 7:30
p.m., said High School Music Teacher Scott Andrews.
