Dear Parent or Guardian,                                                   

The Class of 2008 is preparing for their senior trip to Six Flags Theme Park in Agawam, Mass.  This letter is to inform you of the protocol that will be followed regarding the trip.  The RCS Code of Conduct will be strictly enforced.

The date of the senior trip will be Friday, June 13, 2008.  Chartered busses will leave the RCS High School parking lot at 7:30 AM and return at 8:00 PM. Estimated time of arrival at the park is 9:30 AM. Departure time from the park is 6:00PM.  The busses will leave promptly at 6:00PM.  Your student must be on the bus by 5:45 PM for attendance.

The ticket price per student will be $25 which includes the following: (Checks should be made payable to RCS Class of 2008)

  • Bus transportation

  • Entrance ticket into the park

  • Lunch voucher

In order for a student to purchase a ticket, they MUST bring their signed permission slip and check or cash, to the Senior Class Advisors no later than April 25, 2008STUDENTS WILL NOT BE SOLD A TICKET IF THIS PERMISSION SLIP IS NOT SIGNED.  At that time, students will be given a receipt that holds their spot for this trip.  Tickets to the park will be given out upon arrival in Agawam, Mass.  NO REFUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE.  If students are suspended on June 13th they will not be allowed on the trip.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are students allowed to transport themselves to or from Six Flags, as this is a school sponsored event.  Should students randomly show up at the park, they WILL NOT be given their entrance ticket or food voucher and will not be legally excused from school.

Prior to leaving the RCS High School parking lot, school administrators will search bags and jackets to ensure there is no contraband.  No open containers are allowed on the trip, including coffee mugs or other drinks.

Students who conduct themselves inappropriately will be held accountable for their actions.  Chaperones and advisors reserve the right to contact local authorities and park security for issues occurring while on the trip. School administration will be notified and CONSEQUENCES MAY IMPACT YOUR CHILD’S PARTICIPATION IN THE 2008 GRADUATION CEREMONY.

The senior trip has always been a very exciting and rewarding time for the students.  By following the above protocol, the trip will run smoothly, and more importantly, safely.  Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
