Two from RCS to
perform with Albany ProMusica
A pair of high school
students will perform with Albany ProMusica and
orchestra at Troy Music Hall on April 5.
Jamie Sanderson and Jason
Gallagher, members of the RCS High School Chorus,
will perform Brahms’
Requiem,
Faure’s Cantique de
Jean Racine, and Vaughan Williams’
Five Mystical Songs
during an 8 p.m. performance that evening.
Sanderson and Gallagher
are two of six local high school singers who won
internships for the concert and they have been
rehearsing since January.
To qualify, they
submitted
an extensive application form that listed all of their
choral/vocal experiences throughout high school.
Additionally, RCS Chorus Director William Baxter
submitted evaluation of their abilities. Sanderson and
Gallagher competed with students from across the region
to earn the honor of performing, Baxter said.
“The performance promises
to be stunning! All three pieces are sumptuous,
Romantic masterpieces, and Albany ProMusica is a
world-class chorus,” he said.
