The Board of Education will meet each of the next two weeks as
the draft 2008-09 budget is placed under the microscope.
The board will meet March 10 at 4:30 p.m. in
the high school library media center. Superintendent Vicki
Wright, principals and department heads will be in attendance at
the meeting.
During the regularly scheduled March 17 board meeting – which
will begin at 6 p.m. – board members will discuss the budget
with members of the citizen Budget
Advisory Committee. That meeting is also scheduled to take place
at the high school.
Superintendent Vicki Wright presented last week the board with a
$41.86 million draft budget proposal that called for
a 1.9 percent increase in spending.
The board’s is examining the proposal and is scheduled to adopt
on April 21 a budget plan to put before voters during the May
budget vote.
