Middle school students honored
for spelling, cooking and more

Several Middle School students were honored for academic achievements in and out of the classroom at Monday's Board of Education meeting.

Besides those students honored for their performance on state standardized tests (see story here), students were also recognized for their achievements in a recent spelling bee, regional cooking competition and more. 

Honored were:

• Rebecca Adamson - Spelling Bee Grade Level Finalist

• Samatha Filkins - Spelling Bee Grade Level Finalist

• Amber  VanDerheyden - Spelling Bee Grade Level Finalist

• Johanna Muller - Spelling Bee Grade Level Finalist

• Maisie Snyder - Spelling Bee Grade Level Finalist

• Rayne Bagbey - Spelling Bee Grade Level Finalist

• Ryan Keller - Spelling Bee Grade Level Finalist

• Ryan Rivers -Spelling Bee Grade Level Finalist

• Michael Persico -  Capital District Regional Spelling Bee Participant

• Austin Snyder - Capital District Regional Spelling Bee Participant

• Karin Beswick - National Young Leaders Sate Conference Participant

• Jacob Clouse - AGATE Elementary Academic Excellence Award

• Devin Whitney - For earning a third place finish in the  Great Northeast Home Show Cooking with Kids Recipe Contest
