Senior duo volunteer help Bethlehem senior citizens
A pair of
RCS seniors are volunteering to serve and entertain senior
citizens in the town of Bethlehem.
The students
– who started volunteering and performing in March – will
reprise those activities next month when they attend the
monthly luncheon and musical performance of the Senior Projects
of Ravena, Stars Intergen Corp. and the Town of Bethlehem Senior
Services. The gathering will take place May 28 from 12:45 p.m.- 2:30
p.m. at the First Reformed Church of Bethlehem, just off state
Rt. 9W in Selkirk.
The students
- Joe Lisa and Jordan Lane – help prepare and serve meals and do
“whatever else is needed,” said teacher Adam Sutton.
Doing
“whatever else is needed” included asking a couple of the senior
citizens to dance, “which thrilled the seniors,” said Stars
Intergen Corp. Executive Director Karen Harmon.
Approximately 40 senior citizens attend the monthly gathering,
she said.
“Jordan and
Joe add a special touch to the program and make it truly
intergenerational,” she said.
