Candidates submit petitions for the RCS
Board of Education
Six candidates will seek seats on the
RCS Board of Education next month.
The candidates are seeking four seats on the nine-member board
that are up for election on May 20.
The top three vote recipients will win three-year terms on the
board and the fourth will win a one-year-term during the May 20
elections. Profiles of each candidate in the order that the
candidate appears on the ballot are below.

Rodney Krzykowski |
Rodney Krzykowski
is making his first run for the Board of Education.
He is self-employed.
Mr. Krzykowski is the parent of three adults who attended the
RCS schools.

Christopher Pennock |
Christopher Pennock
is making his first run for the Board of Education.
He is a case supervisor for child welfare with Albany County.
Mr. Pennock is the father of a son who attends St. Thomas
School.

Mike Robbins |
Mike Robbins
is making his second run for the Board of Education. He
previously served on the board for one year.
He is a contractor who resides in Selkirk.
Mr. Robbins is the father of two – a five-year-old who will
enter kindergarten this fall and a three-year-old.

Rosemary Puckett

Rosemary Puckett
is making her second run for the Board of Education after being
elected during a special election in October for a vacant seat.
She is an office manager for the Port of
Coeymans.
Ms. Puckett is the parent of two RCS students –
Danny and Michael.

Kathleen Emory |
Kathleen Emory
is seeking her first term on the Board of Education.
She is the parent of a class of 2007 graduate and resides in
Ravena
Ms. Emory is a medical office manager in Albany and a former
substitute teacher at RCS. She has also taught a driver’s
education course at Columbia High School.

Michael Rienti |
Michael Rienti
is making his first run for the Board of Education.
He is an independent consultant who resides in Coeymans.
Mr. Rienti is the father of two RCS graduates - one who
graduated in 1997 and another who graduated in 2001.
Board incumbents Mike Varney, John Bonafide and Scott Hughes are
not seeking reelection.
The candidates are being invited to attend the May 5 Board of
Education meeting to be introduced to the public by the board.
Melissa Hamilton
has withdrawn her candidacy, however her name will still appear
in the chalkboard being mailed to residents this month.
