RCS students join peers around the world in spontaneous,
simultaneous exercise to fight obesity epidemic
Approximately 500 students erupted in exercise on Wednesday
as RCS Middle School students join peers from around the world
in exercising to bring attention to the childhood obesity
epidemic.
The students took part in Project ACES –which stands for
All Children Exercise Simultaneously.
The students congregated on the JV and Varsity softball
fields at 10 a.m.
to take part in the event.
Len Saunders, a physical education teacher from New Jersey,
started Project ACES in 1989. “Children need motivational and
fun tools to enjoy exercise,” explains Saunders. ACES is just
that…a fun way to exercise. Children get excited to exercise
because they know kids all over the world will be exercising
along with them. In fact, millions of children from all 50
states and over 50 countries are going to join the excitement.
