Melissa Hamilton has withdrawn her candidacy for the RCS
Board of Education, leaving six to vie for the four
seats open for election on the board.
Those seeking the three, three-year terms and one,
single-year term on the board are: Rodney Krzykowski,
Christopher Pennock, Mike Robbins, Rosemary Puckett,
Kathleen Emory and Michael Rienti.
Board incumbents Mike Varney, John Bonafide and Scott
Hughes are not seeking reelection.
As a result of Hamilton’s withdrawal, state law mandates
that anyone seeking to run for a seat on the RCS Board
of Education can still file a nominating petition.
The new deadline for filing petitions to nominate
candidates for the office of member of the Board of
Education is May 13, 5 p.m. Petitions with at least 45
qualified district voters must be submitted to the
Business Office at 26 Thatcher St. in Selkirk.
