Emory welcomed to the board
The Board of Education on
Monday appointed member Kathleen Emory to a vacant seat on the
nine-member panel.
Emory, who was the fourth
highest vote recipient in the May 20, six-way race for four seats on the
board, was appointed to the one-year and four weeks left on the term of
Beth Hazelton who resigned last summer.
Hazelton's seat was
temporarily filled by Rosemary Puckett through a special election held in October. Puckett, who's special term
officially ended on May 20, received the second-highest votes
during the May 20 vote and will return to the board in July to serve a
three-year term.
Emory is
the parent of a class of 2007 graduate and
resides in Ravena.
She is a
medical office manager in Albany and a
former substitute teacher at RCS. She has
also taught a driver’s education course at
Columbia High School.
Also joining the
board next month will be Mike Robbins and
Christopher Pennock.
