RCS appoints new facilities director

The Board of Education appointed on Monday Eugene Doane to head the operations and maintenance department.

Doane succeeds Roy Deyo who resigned earlier this summer.

Mr. Doane, who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration, is currently employed with General Electric as a chemical operator. He previously worked for the state Dormitory Authority as a building management assistant and with Keystone Buildings as a manager. He also worked as a construction specialist at GAMCO Development.

As facility director, Mr. Doane will oversee the maintenance and custodial operations in the district's four schools and other buildings, as well as the maintenance of district grounds.

He will begin work on September 4.
