RCS MIDDLE SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST
GRADE 8
One box of tissues for first
core teacher. Loose leaf paper, pencils, and blue or black
ink pens for all classes.
English –a composition notebook for journal entries,
a pocket folder, two packages of 3x5 note cards (lined)
(Stott) a spiral notebook for notes, (Snyder) a 3
ring binder for notes.
Science
– one metric
ruler, loose-leaf paper, 1 ˝-2” binder, calculator,
(Colon) a composition notebook, (O’Brien) folder
Earth Science
–2” binder, scientific calculator, colored pencils, metric
rule, folder.
Social Studies – (Retzlaff) three-subject notebook,
three-ring binder, stenographer’s notebook, (Case) a
folder.
Math
–a pocket folder,
2 subject notebook, and a calculator (Texas Instruments –
T130XIIS).
LOCKS:
Students will receive a
school issued lock. If the student loses or breaks the
lock, there is a $3.00 replacement cost for a new lock.
ONLY SCHOOL ISSUED LOCKS are permitted for use in the
building.
ASSIGNMENT
NOTEBOOKS: All students will be given a Student
Handbook/Assignment Planner when school begins. Extra
planners can be purchased throughout the year at the school
store.
ART:
Students should come each
day with pencils, a folder, and sketchbooks. (They will be
on sale at the school store.)
BAND:
All Band students should have a pencil at every rehearsal.
Instrumental lesson books will need to be purchased as
needed during the school year. A sufficient supply of
reeds, oil, slide grease, cork grease, etc. should be kept
in instrument cases.
CHORUS:
All Chorus students should have a pencil at every rehearsal.
FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE
EDUCATION:
Students in Home and Career Skills are required to have a
pocket folder.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE
(Grade 8 French): One 1” - 2" three ringed binder, a
pocket folder; colored pencils, Crayons, markers for
projects. A French/English pocket dictionary would also be
helpful for class and at home.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE (Grade 8
Spanish): One 1”
- 2" three ring binder with dividers, pocket folder, colored
pencils or markers, crayons, markers for projects. A
Spanish/English dictionary would also be helpful for class
and at home.
MUSIC:
Students will need a pocket folder to carry important papers
and assignments for general music classes, a binder with
loose-leaf paper or a notebook.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
Students will need a
towel, t-shirt, shorts, and/or sweatpants. All grade levels
will need to have a pair of sneakers (not platform styles),
one pocket folder and a pencil for class.
TECHNOLOGY:
Students will need one
pocket folder; one bound single subject notebook, and a box
of tissues to share.
NOTE: Please
keep this list handy for future reference and remember it is
always a safe bet to stock up on loose-leaf paper, pens and
pencils. Any supplies sent to school should have your
student's name inscribed or engraved on it. Students may
purchase supplies through out the year at the Trading
Post, our middle school store.
