A.W.B. preps for Ride for Missing Children

A contingent of 75 bicyclists will include A.W. Elementary School on their ride to raise awareness of missing and exploited children, Interim Superintendent Michael Johnson reported.

The September 26 Capital Region Ride for Missing and Exploited Children will include a stop at the elementary school as bicyclists commute from Voorheesville to Coxsackie, Greenville and back to the YMCA in Bethlehem before stopping in Albany at the state museum.

It has not yet been determined what involvement students, faculty and staff will have with the event. However, Assistant Superintendent Diane Albano, Ed.D., did say last week that an assembly will be conducted to prepare students for involvement in the event.

Johnson also reported that Athletic Director Ron Racey has volunteered to take part in the 100-mile bicycle ride to serve as a district representative.
