EXCEL vote open house
slated for Oct. 4
RCS will conduct an open
house on 6 p.m. on Oct. 4 to discuss and show what would be
fixed with the approval of the propositions going before
voters on Oct. 9.
The open house
will feature a tour of the High School and Middle School and
a discussion of how RCS would be able to secure state
building and EXCEL aid so that the cost to taxpayers will
average just
4 cents per $1,000 assessed property value the first year
and less than a penny the remaining 14 years.

Additionally, a
bus will provide transportation to the two elementary
schools to show the three-decade-plus year-old water heaters
that are lined with asbestos and, in the case of A.W. Becker
Elementary School, leaking.
Finally,
district officials will outline how the project would
actually provide an annual energy efficiency savings that is
greater than it's cost. Click
