Full evening of activities planned for Oct. 9

A chicken barbecue fundraiser is planned for October 9 at RCS High School to raise funds for the middle school student council.

Later that evening, the high school junior class will conduct its annual Ring Ceremony in which juniors receive their senior class rings. That activity, which begins at 6:30 p.m., is also planned for the high school.

During the ring ceremony, each of the approximately 160 juniors selects a loved one to present them with the ring. Refreshments follow.

Tickets for the barbecue, which runs from 4 to 7 p.m., are $8 and all proceeds benefit student activities sponsored by the council. All dinners will be sold with advance ticket purchase only. Prior to the barbecue, middle school students are invited to watch a movie free of charge at the high school.
