Frequently asked questions of a general nature - nothing specific - will be posted here, followed by answers.

Questions selected for this page will be of a broad nature so that they can appeal to the majority of parents or residents of the district.


 

Does RCS recycle?

In the classrooms, faculty and students are encouraged to recycle white paper.

The district has in the past tried to recycle plastics in the cafeteria and classrooms, however, these efforts have not been successful as garbage was consistently mixed with the plastics, thus leading the recycling company to reject the materials.   

The district also recycles batteries, tires, large amounts of cardboard and wood pallets

. How many students are enrolled at RCS?

    As of August 23, 2006, RCS has 2,203 students enrolled in grades PreK-12

What's the status of the state Comptroller's Office audit of the district?

    The state review of district financial records is ongoing. No findings have been issued by the state (as of Jan. 17).

What's the status of the district's academic accountability?

   The state report card - issued in January 2007 - found the district is in good standing and all individual schools are in good standing.
