the child.

Sign Out/Dismissal During School
Hours:
-
Parents/Guardians are asked to
send a note to the school
indicating their plan to
take their child from school
prior to dismissal. This
information, including the adult
who is picking up the child, is
recorded in the main office.
-
Parent/guardian/authorized adult
requests to sign out their
child. A photo ID is presented,
unless the parent is known to
the office secretary. The adult
signs the log book.
-
The
secretary calls the student to
the office using the PA system.
Pre-K, and K children are
accompanied to the office by
their teacher or staff member.
Students in the Health Office
are escorted to the office by
the nurse. If a teacher is
outside with the students, two
procedures may be used. One,
the parent is given a yellow
pass, indicating that the parent
has signed out the child in the
main office. The parent
presents the pass to the teacher
and the child may leave with the
parent. Two, main office
personnel contact the teacher
with a walkie-talkie and the
child will be sent to the main
office for the dismissal.
Student
Sign Out at Dismissal Time:
1. Parent/guardian/authorized
adult requests to sign out their
child. A photo ID is presented,
unless the parent is known to the
office staff. The parent signs the
log book.
2. The
parent/guardian/authorized adult is
handed a pass, with the child’s name
on it. The parent waits for the
child in the school lobby. When the
teacher brings the class to the
lobby for dismissal, the parent
presents the pass to the teacher,
who allows the child to join the
parent. Upon exiting the front
doors, the parent returns the pass
to a staff member, who checks to
make sure that the child is exiting
the school with the parent.
