RCS Middle School Science Olympiad team jumps to #11 in the state!

(April 11, 2011) Across the entire state of New York, for the state regionals, over 200 teams registered and competed in February and March. After regionals, 40 teams qualified for states, and they met at SUNY Ulster April 8 & 9 for the last competition. After all of the waiting was over, RCS Middle School Science Olympiad team ended up with a state rank of #11, up from 28th place last year. It was the team's 6th straight year in the state competition.

Thrilled with her team's performance, RCS middle school teacher Jennifer Fisk, who also serves as Capital District's Division B Regional Coordinator for Science Olympiad, said, "These kids worked their butts off and they have the rewards to show it. They came four nights a week for two hours or more and did work at home to do the best that they could. I am extremely proud of all of them."
