(July 16, 2012) The RCS Girl's varsity swim team finished
the 2011-12 season with a 5-5 record, competing against schools such as Emma
Willard, Albany Academy, and Albany High School. Five of the team athletes
qualified for sectionals in multiple events, and the team as a whole
received recognition as a NYS Scholar Athlete team, together achieving a 92
grade point average.
The team is looking to continue its success in 2012-13, and is currently
recruiting more athletes. The team is open to students in grades 7-12, and
the season starts with a meeting at the aquatics center lobby on Monday,
August 13.
Students wishing to participate in the swim program must bring the following
forms:

In order to complete these forms students must have had a physical
within the past 12 months. The forms may be delivered to the the
High School main office after August 1, and must be completed before
students can participate in practice. Middle school students
wishing to join the Varsity team must complete and pass the NYS
Selection Classification Test. Students that meet the JV
requirements may also participate on the varsity team, but may only
compete as exhibition swimmers or divers. Details about the

All athletes should come to all practices with a one piece bathing
suit, towel, goggles, swim cap or hair tie, drinking water,
appropriate gym clothes, and sneakers.
