RCS website wins state award

(Nov. 8, 2011) The RCS Central School District captured an Award of Excellence for its new website in the 32nd annual Communications Contest sponsored by the New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA). The new website was launched last June.

RCS worked with the Capital Region BOCES Communications Service to create a user-friendly, visually modern online source of district news and information. Because the site re-design and content was performed through an existing contract with BOCES, the bulk of the work was done at no extra cost to the district.

About one-third of the more than 300 NYSPRA entries earned awards in 2011, in a closely drawn judging by communications professionals from around the country. Awards were presented to winners at the 2011 NYSPRA Awards Luncheon on Oct. 28, during the 2011 convention of the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) in Buffalo. learn more about contest
