Students study, identify animal signs at Five Rivers

(Nov. 10, 2011) At the end of October, middle school students in Beth Rice's class (pictured at right) played detective as they studied "animal signs" at Five Rivers in Delmar.

The group walked along a trail with an instructor from Five Rivers to look for signs that animals had been there. They searched and identified signs, such as animal tracks, rubbings, dens and hair/feathers left behind. Students even had the opportunity to make a mold of a deer track!

This field trip was funded through a scholarship from the Friends of Five Rivers.
