Students create special 'thank you' holiday cards for soldiers

(Nov. 10, 2011) In honor of Veterans Day, fourth grade students in Carrie DuBois' class started creating holiday cards for former A.W. Becker student, Lance Corporal Jacob Snide, and his entire troop. The soldiers will be deployed overseas within the next two weeks.

The cards, adorned with colorful drawings and glitter, are intended to brighten the soldier's spirits and say "thank you" for everything they do.

The cards will be mailed around Thanksgiving so that the troop receives them in late December.

In the spring, the class plans to send care packages to the troop.
