RCS music students selected to NYSSMA Area All-State Festival

(Nov. 14, 2011) The RCS Music Department is proud to announce that 11 music students have been selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Zone 7 Area All-State Festival on  Nov. 18-19 at Saratoga Springs High School. Music students from approximately 50 schools in Zone 7 will be represented.

Nine RCS students have been selected to the NYSSMA Area All-State Chorus. They are: Kathleen Askew, Abigail Cowan, Thomas Downey, Lauren McCluskey, Alexandra Myers, Eugene Posniewski, Mickayla Shear, Maisie Snyder and Madeline Wamsley. Selected to the Area All-State Band was Mariah Disorbo on tuba and selected to the Area All-State Orchestra was Javier Carrazana on trumpet.

Students will rehearse on Friday, Nov. 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. and return to Saratoga on Saturday for rehearsals from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festival concludes with a concert at 2 p.m. on Nov. 19, featuring the Area All-State Jazz Ensemble, Chorus, Band and Orchestra.
