(August 28, 2012) The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk
Central School District will reduce the 2012-13 school year tax levy by
$150,000; from 6.8 percent to 6.1 percent.
Business Official, Ms. Diane Malecki, reviewed the fund balance at the close out of the 2011-2012 school year. Due to the diligence of RCS employees, the district saved an additional $150,000 through the end of the school year. Superintendent Elisabeth Smith recommended using this savings to reduce taxes for the community and the Board of Education approved the reduction of taxes at its regular meeting on Aug. 21, 2012.
“We appreciate the support community members have
shown for the education of our young people and we will continue to seek
greater efficiency in all departments,” said Superintendent Smith.
