Community Donations Provide Supplies for Students in Need
Two local nonprofit groups have made generous
donations to help RCS students in need prepare for the new school year. The
Bethlehem Community Fund (formerly known as the Festival Fund) and the
Delmar Rotary each donated $500 toward the purchase of supplies for RCS
students. Community Fund Board member and RCS middle school nurse Mrs. Rice
and retired high school social worker Eileen Hoffman shopped with the funds
to fill a supply list provided by three school buildings. A portion of the
bounty is pictured in the brimming carts below.
The Rotary and Community Fund have donated money for supplies for quite a
few years, a tradition that ensures RCS children start their year with the
items they need to be fully prepared for learning. This year, the Community
Fund also added a second $1,000 scholarship to a deserving graduating RCS
senior, presented at the June, 2012 awards ceremony. Many thanks to both
groups for working so hard to raise funds and support RCS students.
