FCCLA book drive contest
(Nov. 16, 2012 ) The Family, Career and Community
Leaders of America (FCCLA) is collecting books for the Albany Book Project,
a non-profit organization that distributes free books to schools, senior
centers, literacy programs, health care clinics, military bases, hospitals
and many other venues in our region. The school that collects the most books
will win a prize.
Books are being collected from Nov. 26 through Dec. 10 in the main office of
each school building. Donations of current (10 years or less) adult
paperback and hardcover fiction and non-fiction, children’s board books,
picture books and chapter books are appreciated. The Albany Book Project
cannot accept torn or moldy books, encyclopedias, videos tapes or CDs,
magazines, computer books more than 3-years old, test-prep books older than
the current year, or textbooks of any kind.
