RCS HS seniors bring humor, happiness to senior citizen luncheon

Two RCS 12th graders, Krista Ross and Matthew Mack, added a touch of Christmas humor to jumpstart the holiday season for senior citizens at the December 2nd luncheon and musical event held at the First Reformed Church of Bethlehem in Selkirk.

 PBC, middle school students raise money to support Make-A-Wish Foundation

PBC and middle school students raised more than $400 through the sale of angels to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.


New elementary schedule starts January 4

Under the terms of the agreement, students will arrive at A.W. Becker and Pieter B. Coeymans elementary schools at 8:45 a.m. starting January 4, 2010, which is 15 minutes earlier than the current start time. Also, students at the two elementary schools will be released on Fridays at 3:15 p.m. instead of at the current 3:00 p.m. teacher release time.

RCS Continuing Education department offers new classes in Jan. and Feb.

Classes include the return of popular yoga instructor Kathleen Fisk; volleyball; basketball; indoor soccer; parent-tot swim; water aerobics; hip hop aerobics; and free-style fitness.

A.W. Becker Scholars

AWB Scholars program launches blog to highlight environmental issues

The A.W. Becker Scholars are a combined group of 4th and 5th graders at A.W. Becker Elementary School in Selkirk, New York, that regularly engage in intellectually challenging experiences within a seminar setting. This year's topic of scientific exploration is focused on the environment.
