District responds to first MRSA case

Late Wednesday afternoon RCS administrators were informed that a student in the Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School has a confirmed case of Community-Associated Methiciliin Resistant Staphylococcus auereus (CA-MRSA).

Board of Education supports efforts to halt reduction in Medicaid funds

The Board of Education recently approved a resolution endorsing a state-wide effort to stop the reduction of federal Medicaid reimbursement to the state.


RCS schedules ‘town hall style’ meeting

The district will conduct a town hall style meeting on November 7 at the Coeymans Fire House.


Student athletes raise more than $900 for cancer research

Members of the varsity girls soccer team– joined by high school faculty, staff, parents and a pair of students from the cross country team – raised $948 for cancer research Sunday when they took part in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Albany’s Washington Park.


Safety reminder in light of time change

On November 4th we change our clocks from Daylight Savings Time back to Standard Time.


RCS students hit a high note for Melodies of Christmas

A record six students will perform this year in the holiday TV concert.


Guide dog and trainer provides lesson to A.W.B. students

Third grade students received a lesson from a guide dog for the blind during a special visit on Tuesday.
