Poetry in Motion: RCS students returned to the classroom on Monday after the week-long winter recess and these sixth grade students went right to the computers, completing a  poetry writing lesson by typing their poems in the school’s computer laboratory. In the attached photo, a student practices the hunt-and-peck technique of typing while others are in the background.


Draft budget proposal would increase spending 1.9%

Adding long-sought-after programs and addressing state audit demands would mean a budget increase of 1.9 percent next year, Superintendent Vicki Wright told the Board of Education Monday.


District does not stray too far a field with field trip regulations, funding

RCS Assistant Superintendent Diane Albano, Ed.D. outlined for the board on Monday the current status of field trips and fundraising in the district.


Special Ed. parents meeting group rescheduled

The special education parent network group meeting scheduled for Feb. 27 has been rescheduled to March 3


REMINDER: Board petitions are available

District residents are reminded that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education are available in the district's Business Office.

While the District Office building sits on what appears to be a "postage stamp size" lot at 26 Thatcher Street in Selkirk, RCS actually owns much more land there.
