An A.W. Becker student is in top form as he trains before school on Monday as part of the Wackadoodles Running Club. The club is practicing to take part in the Freihofer’s  kids mile run on May 31.

Student musicians will take center stage in RCS’ various schools numerous times over the coming weeks.

RCS students join peers around the world in simultaneous exercise to fight obesity epidemic

Approximately 500 students erupted in exercise on Wednesday as RCS Middle School students join peers from around the world in exercising to bring attention to the childhood obesity epidemic.


A group of eighth grade students review the footage of a commercial they taped on Tuesday for  Andrew Papas' technology class. In the class, the students film a digital commercial and then edit it as part of a communications project. The students (back to camera - Laruen Tutay, then L-R,  Michelle Malin, Eugene Posniewski, Courtney Knackal – filmed a commercial for a fictional comic book convention. Below, the students act out a scene.

New round of nominating petitions available as BOE candidate withdraws

Melissa Hamilton has withdrawn her candidacy for the RCS Board of Education, leaving six to vie for the four seats open for election on the board.


Students jump, shoot for heart research

Students at Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School are jumping and shooting this week in an effort to raise funds for the American Heart Association.


SABIC volunteers to spruce up PBC gardens

Volunteers from SABIC - formerly known as GE Selkirk - will help spruce up the gardens and wildlife classroom area of the Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School on May 15.


Budget day BBQ at RCS

The RCS class of 2010 will host a Giffy's barbecue fundraiser on May 20 at the high school.


District website sets new unique visitor record

RCS website drew a record number of visitors during March, district officials announced this week.


Pasta fundraiser generates more than $1,000 for ill teacher, check presented Saturday

Lots of spaghetti and meatballs went into the $1,011 that was presented to the father an ill RCS Middle School teacher last weekend.


Absentee ballots still available;
Due on May 20

District residents who will not be able to vote in person on May 20 are encouraged to vote by absentee ballot.

Teacher, retired teacher tape show

RCS English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher John Parker Jr. and retired RCS Teacher Josephine Prozik joined forces to tape a show about a new book that recounts the Cuban revolution.
