Another year, another successful Natalie Krause Apple Run at A.W. Becker

Autumn may be the best time of year to get out for some physical activity. The sun is warm, the air is cool and the colors outside are beautiful (even if it was 90 degrees 3 days earlier). On Sept. 29, A.W. Becker Elementary School lined up on the front lawn for the ninth annual Natalie Krause Apple Run.

This event encourages students to celebrate their healthy bodies – by running, the New York autumn weather and our beloved teaching assistant Natalie Krause.  A crisp apple for each student was donated by the A.W. Becker PTA and Goold Orchard. For more images from the event, visit our facebook page.

The event also serves as a kickoff for our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. Since 2010 A.W. Becker has raised $20,000 for the American Heart Association. This year our goal is to raise $3,000. Students in grades 2-5 are encouraged to sign up by going to www.heart.org/jump.
