Middle school drama club packs the house three nights in a row for Mulan, Jr.
On May 14, 15, and 16, 2009 the RCS Middle School Drama Club performed Disney’s Mulan, Jr. The 43 cast members were costumed in traditional Chinese attire in front of a backdrop of pagodas and Chinese writing describing the values of destiny, love, honor, strength, loyalty, and eventually change -- all driving concepts of the Mulan storyline.
Students began rehearsing the show in October and met once a week until early May, when rehearsals increased to almost every day. The incredible hard work and dedication needed to put on a musical paid off as the three sold out performances garnered the group of 6th, 7th and 8th graders enormous accolades for their performances.
