PBC students collect 900 food items, raise more than $1100 for area food banks
Story submitted by Tony Lintner, PBC student council advisor.

(Dec. 23, 2009) -- The students of PBC collected about 900 items of food for the food pantry at St. Patrick's Church in Ravena. They then collected money at Crossgates Mall on Tuesday, Dec. 22, for the Regional Food Bank of NENY. For every dollar collected, the food bank will be able to purchase $10-12 worth of food.

The students collected $1,133 in three hours, which equates to about $13,500 that the Food Bank can use to purchase food. This is a record for us, as I have been doing this with my student councils in the past. It was also the best total for the day (which was "all-star day," the Food Bank's best-of-the-best collectors). Congratulations to the students for their hard work and to the community for its generosity.
