“You will be a great role model for them,” Natural Helpers begins another year at A.W. Becker

Natural Helpers eagerly raise hands to volunteer at their first meeting of the 2017 school year.

Hands bolt into the air as A.W. Becker’s Natural Helpers excitedly vie for various jobs around the school. Each job allows students in the group to help fellow students, teachers and staff. Activities such as volunteering in the main office or nurse’s office, helping pre-k and kindergarten students pack up at the end of the day, or being a buddy in a skills class.

“You will be a great role model for them,” Michelle Brusic said to the students as they discuss the jobs available.

Brusic smiles at the eagerness of the students, most jobs so popular among the helpers, that at least half the group raises their hands to volunteer.

A Natural Helpers volunteer group can also be found at Pieter B. Coeymans and RCS Middle and High School.
