A.W. Becker Kindergarten Supply List

Dear Kindergarten Families,

This is a list of supplies your child will need for kindergarten.  We will share most of these supplies so you only need to label some.  Please bring these supplies with you to your welcome start date in September.  We look forward to a wonderful school year!

Labeled Items

  • Backpack
  • 1 red poly/plastic bottom pocket folder (name on outside please)
  • 1 spiral notebook (name on outside please)
  • 1 primary composition journal, these can be found at Staples and Walmart (name on outside please)
  • 1 art smock/old shirt
  • 1 change of clothes to leave in school (pants, shirt, socks, underwear) in a labeled bag
  • 3 folders blue, yellow and green(name on outside please)

Do not label these items:

  • 2 packs of Crayola Crayons (24 ct or larger)
  • 16 glue sticks
  • 1 bottle of Elmer’s glue
  • 2 packs of Crayola markers
  • 1 highlighter
  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • 1 package of small bathroom size cups

Please note that the following supplies are needed for all students at this grade level.

The bottom portion is a list of remaining supplies needed once you are informed of your child’s homeroom teacher. It is very important to label everything with your child’s name.

It will help your child stay organized in the classroom. Thanks! 
● 24 pencils (sharpened)- Please, NO mechanical pencils
● 1 pencil box (about 8” x 5”)
● 2 large erasers
● 1 pair of scissors
● 6 glue sticks
● 1 box of crayons
● 1 box of colored pencils

  • 1 Zipper binder
  • 1″ three ring binder
  • 1 One-subject notebook
  • 3 3-hole punched HEAVY DUTY pocket folders (poly/plastic – red, blue and green) These must fit in the binder rings.
  • 3 boxes of sharpened #2 pencils with erasers (additional pencils may be needed throughout the year)
  • 2 large pink erasers

  • 1 package of Crayola Twistable Crayons
  • 1 soft zipper pencil case with three holes for binder (unless the binder has a pouch to put pencils in).

One backpack (Please make sure that it can fit a folder inside.) 

  • One plastic 2-pocket folder 
  • One plastic reusable water bottle with a lid your child can open/close independently. This will travel back and forth to school each day. 
  • One full set of clothes in a Ziploc bag labelled with your child’s name. These will stay in school. AM Students only- one box of Jumbo crayons and one container of Wet Ones-type hand wipes
  • PM Students only-One box of thick markers and one 4 container pack of Play-doh

Right now I have enough tissues and hand sanitizer, but we may need some donations later in the year. Thank you!!!!!!

Welcome to Kindergarten! We’re looking forward to a wonderful year with your child. Below is a list of supplies needed for the school year. Supplies should be brought to school on your child’s scheduled orientation day. Please label each starred * item with your child’s name. Some supplies will be shared as a class. We look forward to meeting you!

**We have found that a folder system works most effectively for our transitions. If a student brings in a binder, he or she will be asked to bring it home and save it fofuture purposes. Thank you!

  • Please consider your child when buying supplies. Oftentimes supplies need to be replaced mid-year.  You may want to buy extra supplies (especially pencils) while they are on sale.
